James Stewart (41) is an orphanage resident with intellectual disabilities.Stewart was placed in the home because he needed daily supervision and assistance.

Since last year, Stewart has continued to experience constipation and recurring stomach aches.However, the orphanage continued to ignore the report.

, Stewart is said to have not defecated in a matter of weeks to months.Stewart also experienced stomach pain that got worse to the point where he appeared to have no energy.
The nursing home staff allegedly did not pay proper attention to Stewart’s condition.In fact, his stomach had become unusually bloated before he died on November 15.
Stewart was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Medical personnel reported a colored line on his stomach, with the stomach being enlarged, swollen and stiff to the touch.
Autopsy results showed that his colon was blocked by hardened feces, weighing more than 9 kilograms (kg).
This condition triggers internal pressure, which causes tension pneumoperitoneum or a condition where gas is forced out through micro-tears in the intestinal wall.
Now, the Stewart family has filed a lawsuit against the orphanage because they are considered to have neglected the patient’s condition.
