(US) will speed up the visa process for foreign visitors who have tickets to matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup or next year.
US President Donald Trump on Monday (17/11) announced this effort to facilitate fans who will visit the 11 cities in his country that will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Washington will set up a visa interview appointment scheduling system that prioritizes foreign fans attending World Cup games, which are scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. Mexico and Canada will also host some games.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said various US government agencies had worked to support the implementation of the 2026 World Cup, including the arrival of supporters from various countries.

Trump claims his administration has accelerated the issuance of visas for people in most countries, with waiting times now 60 days or less.He also estimates the World Cup could generate US$30 billion and create 200,000 jobs.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the State Department had added 400 consular officers to process visas, doubling the presence in certain countries.
“The US is offering prioritized appointments so fans can complete their visa interviews and demonstrate that they are eligible,” Rubio said.
At the White House, FIFA President Gianni Infantino estimated that between 5 million and 10 million people would come to the US for matches in the world’s biggest soccer tournament.
FIFA reports that more than one million tickets have been purchased so far by fans from 212 countries.In a statement, world football’s governing body said ticket holders would receive more information about the priority visa appointment system in early 2026.
With millions of world soccer fans expected to come, these visa convenience measures are crucial for the US, Canada and Mexico as hosts.
