Global ferry operator, DFDS expressed its deep regret over the incident that occurred on their ship sailing from Dieppe, France to Newhaven, England.

The company revealed that an “adult film” accidentally appeared on the lounge television after passengers watched the Formula One Grand Prix race.

A DFDS spokesperson explained that this incident occurred when the ship was delayed and had to return to France due to technical problems at the Port of Newhaven, Sussex, England.
A group of passengers had previously asked to watch the Formula One Grand Prix on the ship’s TV lounge, and the adult film appeared as soon as the race was over.
DFDS said the crew were “unaware” the film would be shown.”As soon as the crew was notified of the content, the channel was immediately changed,” they said, as reported

The channel has now been removed from the list of available stations on the ship.”This will not happen again. We are very sorry for the natural disappointment and anger caused by this incident,” stressed DFDS.
Speaking to The Argus in Brighton, a passenger who did not want to be named described what happened at the end of October 2025 as a rather crazy incident.
“Suddenly, the children ran out of the recliner lounge area screaming,” he told the media.
“Several parents came out and asked the officers to immediately deal with the TV. They said, ‘there is a pornographic video on the TV’. I didn’t see it, but the sound was clear,” he added.
The passenger continued, a staff member then turned off the television.”It’s really crazy. I don’t know how it could be like that. This ferry trip has been a mess. Many passengers are very upset,” he concluded.
