Many travelers plan their trips in stages this year.Usually, travelers buy transportation tickets first, then tourist destination tickets and so on.

After that, travelers book the accommodation or tourist attractions they want.
Influenced by social media
Social media also influences the search and exploration stage for new destinations that can be included in tourism plans.Through visual, fast and easy-to-digest content, tourists take part in the tourism trend algorithm.

Land transportation
This year, a spike in transportation ticket purchases occurred for trains and buses.This trend, according to Tifanny, is influenced by infrastructure, such as the construction of the Trans-Java toll road which makes travel easier.
“We see this [growth] is very fast, more than other modes. Which reflects a slight shift from air transportation to land transportation,” he explained.
Non-hotel accommodation
This year’s accommodation trends are also experiencing a shift.Non-hotel accommodation actually outperforms the hotel itself.
Non-hotel accommodation grew rapidly by 44 percent, while hotels by 19 percent and apartments by 13 percent.
Tifanny suspects that this shift could be caused by the desire of tourists who want to spend their holidays with family and large groups of friends.
