To get to the point where the baby panda is born, there is a long journey and effort behind it.The panda reproduction process needs to be done carefully and following scientific procedures.
Female pandas only have a fertile period of 24-72 hours each year, so in order for female pandas to get pregnant, they need to be supported with special efforts.Starting from monitoring hormones, observing maternal behavior, to implementing international animal welfare standards are determining factors for success.

The hope is that in the first 30-60 days, the baby panda will be able to open its eyes, grow fur, begin to improve its motor skills, and be able to regulate its own body temperature.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, gave the name to the newborn panda cub Huchun on December 4 2025. The baby panda’s name is now Satrio “RIO”, meaning “knight or hero”.
This name is a form of hope, resilience and commitment from Indonesia and China to protect endangered species.
“Apart from being a source of national pride, the birth of this baby panda shows that long-term cooperation, scientific discipline and loving care can produce real results in efforts to preserve endangered species,” explained TSI.
