Syamsudin Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Sukabumi explained the chronology of the incident.
Raya was taken to the Emergency Room (IGD) Syamsudin Regional Hospital on July 13, 2025 at around 20:00 WIB.

From there, the hospital immediately conducted a complete examination.Raya blood pressure at that time had declined.
During the observation period, the hospital only learned that one of the Raya parents was undergoing TB treatment.Initially, the hospital suspected the decline in consciousness experienced by Raya occurred because of TB.
But, slowly found worms coming out of their nose.
“When there is a worm, we think differently. This is not aware because of the worm infection that usually has spread to the brain when it is severe,” said Irfan.
Raya is then referred to the PICU room for intensive care.From further examination, Raya was diagnosed with ascariasis, a braceworm infectious disease.
“Infection can occur when worm eggs are swallowed, either through food, drinks, and dirty hands. Eggs will hatch in the intestine, then develop into larvae that can spread through the bloodstream to organs, even the brain,” explained Irfan.
The environment of the high residence is thought to add to the risk of infection.Raya lives in a house on stilts with open ground at the bottom.
“It seems that patients often play ground barefoot. That increases the risk of infection,” he said.
Before being taken to the hospital, Raya was also said to still play with his peers.This was revealed by the victim’s aunt, Sarah.
“Friday is still playing, Saturday was taken for treatment, he said lungs, Sunday was taken to the clinic again, then to the pediatrician,” he said.
It’s just that, his condition is getting worse in a matter of days.On July 13, Raya was referred in a weak condition.
The mother, Endah, claimed he had never brought her youngest daughter to the Puskesmas.During illness, Raya is only treated in the traditional way.
“If it hurts, it is usually bathed in warm water or using cassava leaves. Just found out that there was a big worm in his stomach,” Endah said.
Even before illness, Raya was also observed to have suffered from malnutrition.Based on the examination of the local midwife, the weight of Raya is always below the red line on the card to healthy.
