) resort was also launched.
Apart from the CEO of Sudamala Resorts, Ben Subrata, at the event the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara, Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena also inaugurated the two programs.Accompanied by the Regent of West Manggarai, Edistasius Endi, and Bishop Maximus Regus from the Diocese of Labuan Bajo.

“This energy transition and coral reef conservation is clear evidence of Sudamala Resorts’ sustainability DNA, from land to sea,” said Sudamala Resorts CEO, Ben Subrata, quoting from a press release.
This PLTS system includes 480 solar panels with a capacity of 300 kWp and a battery energy storage system (770 kWh).It is said that the system has been operating well for the past three months.
The results of this initiative are around 410,000 kWh of clean energy per year and reduced carbon emissions by up to 370 tons of COâ‚‚, this figure is estimated to be equivalent to planting 4,900 trees every year.
Sudamala Resort also launched a coral reef restoration program covering an area of ​​3.56 hectares.Using the Modular Artificial Reef Structure (MARRS) method, this program is claimed to be effective in restoring marine ecosystems.
Apart from managing the sea sustainably, with this program local communities are also empowered.This is as stated by the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara.
“The Sudamala Resorts initiative is proof that tourism can not only provide economic benefits, but also be a major force in protecting and restoring the environment. This is a model of sustainable development that is worth emulating in other destinations in NTT and throughout Indonesia,” said Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena.
The Regent of West Manggarai, Edistasius Endi expressed support for this collaboration because it is considered a real manifestation of responsible tourism and proves that green development in Labuan Bajo can be cost efficient.
The event entitled ‘Empowering a Greener Future’ is a collaboration between Sudamala Resorts, Sudamala Bumi Insani Foundation, Bali Blue Harmony Foundation, technology partners Xurya and Suryagen, as well as various stakeholders.
Chairman of the Sudamala Bumi Insani Foundation said that this project is a reflection of their commitment to science-based actions that ensure ecological balance and sustainability of community livelihoods.
