Coffee can not only increase energy and prevent drowsiness. In a recent study published in the European Heart Journal, time
drink coffee
can also reduce the risk of death.
This research involved more than 40,000 adults in the United States who were monitored for their diet, health and lifestyle.

Then, the researchers linked the data to death records and causes of death over a monitoring period of nine to ten years.
About 36 percent of study participants were morning coffee drinkers, 16 percent drank coffee throughout the day (morning, afternoon, and evening), and another 48 percent didn’t drink coffee at all.

When to drink coffee can reduce the risk of dying young?Researchers from
Tulane University
said, drinking coffee in the morning is more beneficial than consuming it throughout the day.
Morning coffee drinkers had a 16 percent lower risk of dying from any cause and a 31 percent lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.
However, no reduction in risk was found in coffee drinkers throughout the day when compared with the group who did not drink coffee.
Morning coffee drinkers benefit from reducing this risk in both moderate drinkers (two to three cups per day) and heavy drinkers (more than three cups).
Additionally, light drinkers in the morning (one cup or less) also benefited, but the reduction was smaller.
“Drinking coffee in the morning appears to be more strongly associated with a reduced risk of death than drinking it later in the day,” the researchers wrote in the European Heart Journal.
Health benefits of drinking coffee in the morning
The study’s lead author, Dr. Lu Qi of Tulane University, explained that previous research has shown coffee does not increase the risk of heart disease.
In fact, consuming coffee can reduce the risk of a number of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes. However, the effect of drinking coffee on heart health has never been specifically studied.
“This is the first study to examine coffee drinking timing patterns and health outcomes. Our findings show that it is not just whether a person drinks coffee or how much he drinks, but when he drinks it that matters,” said Dr Qi.
This study does not explain why drinking coffee in the morning reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.
However, it is thought that consuming coffee in the afternoon or evening can disrupt circadian rhythms and hormone levels such as melatonin. This causes changes in cardiovascular risk factors such as inflammation and blood pressure.
Dr QI emphasized the need for further research in other populations, including clinical trials that specifically assess whether changing the timing of coffee drinking can improve heart health.
Prof. Thomas Lüscher from Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, London, said the same thing, highlighting that many coffee drinkers throughout the day experience sleep disorders.
“Overall, we have to accept the substantial evidence that exists that drinking coffee, especially in the morning, is likely to be healthy. So, drink your coffee, but do it first thing in the morning,” said Prof Thomas.
That is the explanation regarding the time to drink coffee which can reduce the risk of dying young, namely in the morning.Morning coffee drinkers had a 16 percent lower risk of dying.
