Raul Rocha has reportedly been charged with crimes in Mexico and Guatemala.
The ‘drama’ surrounding the Miss Universe 2025 pageant did not stop with the victory of Fatima Bosch, a contestant from Mexico.In a report by the Mexican newspaper Reforma on Wednesday (26/11), Rocha was charged with alleged involvement in drug, weapons and fuel trafficking by the Mexican Attorney General’s Office (FRG).

Prosecutors claim that Rocha was the leader of a criminal organization that smuggled fuel by boat via the Usumacinta River before transporting it to Mexico.

, Reforma also reported that an agent from Mexico’s Special Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime requested an arrest warrant for Rocha on organized crime charges last August.
The FRG is said to have raided several houses.They claim to have obtained records of Rocha’s financial contributions to criminal enterprises allegedly involved.Donations reached 2.1 million pesos or almost IDR 600 million.
In an arrest warrant obtained by Reforma, the FRG accused Rocha of having “connections with politicians and authorities at all three levels of government to deliberately carry out their missions, which include the sale of hydrocarbons, narcotics, as well as the trade and sale of large quantities of weapons of war.”
Rocha, according to the Reforma report, contacted FRG in October to negotiate a plea deal to exchange information for immunity from prosecution.
Previously, the Miss Universe event which was overseen by the Miss Universe Organization was full of controversy.After the humiliation incident faced by Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, one of the judges announced her resignation.
Three days before the Miss Universe 2025 final, Omar Harfouch resigned from his position on the jury.He accused the organization of having formed an ‘impromptu jury’ to select 30 finalists from 136 finalists for the preliminary round.
Then after Bosch was announced as the winner, he said Bosch’s win was fake.Harfouch claims that before the final, he was asked to pick Bosch as the winner.
