Since 2016, BHTP has been recognized as one of the most comprehensive experience-based safety studies in the travel industry.The assessment was carried out by combining surveys of thousands of tourists as well as data from a number of sources such as the Global Peace Index (GPI), Numbeo, and GeoSure Global.

BHTP Vice President, Carol Mueller, said that one of the surprises in this year’s report was the top position now occupied by the Netherlands, up from 14th position last year.
“The Netherlands performed strongly in all the indices evaluated this year, with each giving the country high security scores,” said Mueller.
