The Heritage Class train was originally called Djoko Kendil.This train is a former Java Nacht Express sleeping train made in 1938 which was operated by Staatsspoorwegen.
The name Djoko Kendil is taken from the story of a princess from the Brawijaya Kingdom who fell in love with Djoko Kendil, a young man from ordinary society.
According to information circulating on social media, this train is predicted to operate under the name Jaka Lalana Train to Gambir, Bogor, Sukabumi, Cianjur.
Previously, PT KAI and the West Java Provincial Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday (25/11).It contains operational plans for the Jaka Lalana Tourist Train and the Pajajaran Kilat Train.
Quoting the West Java Disparbud page, the train is planned to be officially released in mid-December 2025.The presence of the Jaka Lalana Train is expected to be able to boost tourism in West Java, especially the Sukabumi and Cianjur areas.
