This bad effect is caused by the sodium, saturated fat and calorie content in instant noodles, all of which tend to be high.Meanwhile, important nutrients such as fiber, vitamins, minerals and protein are low.
How long does it take for instant noodles to digest?
The process of digestion of instant noodles itself is somewhat different from noodles in general.Instant noodles take longer to break down in the digestive system than other noodles.
Instant noodles can last around 3-5 hours in the stomach before being processed to the next stage. In some people, the process of digesting instant noodles can take 1-2 days before they completely leave the body.
This long process, continued Aru, was caused by several factors.First, the frying process makes instant noodles higher in fat. This saturated fat content slows the movement of food in the stomach.
The presence of additional ingredients such as preservatives also makes instant noodles take longer to digest.Preservatives make instant noodles harder and not easy to break down.On the other hand, fresh noodles or noodles made without preservatives will break down more easily and digest quickly.
Lastly, instant noodles are low in fiber which slows down intestinal function. This condition makes food stay in the digestive tract longer.
