Some people claim that nostalgia when looking at objects such as refrigerator magnets is different from nostalgia when looking at photos.This opinion is explained in the results of research by the University of Liverpool published in the journal

One of the research participants argued that if you go somewhere, a person can take 50 to 100 photos a day.Meanwhile, he tends not to take any photos, but instead buys refrigerator magnets.
“I only got a fridge magnet when the holidays were over, and I can remember everything from that. How many people go back and forth through old photos on their phones? You can’t, unless you have an electronic device, some kind of object or photo that can be kept next to you constantly, changing the image every day or whatever,” he said.
The majority of participants from a total of 19 people interviewed in this study said that by sticking souvenirs in the form of refrigerator magnets, every time they opened the refrigerator door, they immediately remembered their holiday moments.
In fact, some refrigerator magnets are already attached with precious, touching memories.Even though it has been many years, refrigerator magnets remind them of trips with their loved ones.

“It’s clear that when people talk about what refrigerator magnets mean to them, they can easily evoke memories and talk about very specific events or people,” said Dr.John, reported from the official website

Fridge magnets are more than memory triggers, Dr.John also explained that this small object could be a means to forget the bad things in life, because someone could reflect and imagine something better when looking at a refrigerator magnet.
“This also includes examples of quite touching holidays they have experienced with loved ones who have passed away or their children who have grown up and been separated from them,” he said.
