“We don’t know exactly how many portions we’ll use in one day, but thank God there’s a lot. In terms of profit, thank God,” said Adib, one of the employees on duty at the food stand.
Regarding Indonesian food, Adib said there was no difficulty in making it.This is because the raw materials for making typical dishes in Indonesia can be easily obtained.
“The most different thing is chili. Because you know that chili in Indonesia is spicier,” said Adi.
Under the clear night sky and hanging lights, diners enjoyed Indonesian food.Bagus, who came with his family and colleagues, admitted that it was the Global Harmony event.
Bagus is an Indonesian citizen who has worked for two decades in Saudi Arabia.As someone who also likes cooking, Bagus can tell you in general the differences between Indonesian cuisine and Saudi Arabian cuisine.
“In Indonesia, the seasoning has to be ‘medok’. In Arabic, the seasoning is simpler. Just dip it,” said Bagus.
Even though he can cook and regularly eat Indonesian food in everyday life, Bagus is still enthusiastic about hunting for Indonesian food at Global Harmony.
“I came here for a holiday. Apart from that, we can also mingle with people we didn’t know before. We can be together here,” said Bagus.
Other visitors, namely Ainun, Lilis and Nurul, were also enthusiastic about visiting Global Harmony, which is included in the Riyadh Season and is part of Saudi Vision 2030.
Ainun, Lilis, and Nurul relax while chatting at a table.They can unwind for a moment from their work as nurses.
“This festival is good because you can enjoy Indonesian food and also enjoy concerts by Indonesian artists,” said those who admitted that they were still following developments in various news in Indonesia.
