) RI confirmed the origin of the Hong Thai inhaler

The one that went viral recently is not registered in Indonesia, aka it is illegal.
In its official statement, BPOM emphasized that the safety of illegal goods cannot be guaranteed.Citing Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) laboratory test results, the product did not meet safety requirements.

“Based on the results of a BPOM database search, the Hong Thai Brand Herb Inhaler Formula 2 product is not registered with BPOM so it is an illegal product and cannot be distributed in Indonesia,” wrote
BPOM
in his statement, Friday (7/11).
Nevertheless, Hong Thai products are still available in various markets
platforms
online, incl
e-commerce
and social media.
From the search results, BPOM found 539 Hong Thai sales links with estimated sales reaching 29,589 products.This figure is equivalent to an economic value of more than IDR 925 million.
BPOM has also coordinated with all parties, including the Indonesian E-Commerce Association and the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Komdigi), to carry out
take down
to the product sales link.
BPOM urges the public to be more careful and smart in choosing herbal products.Always check the distribution permit before buying or using the product.
As previously reported, Thailand recalled a number of Hong Thai inhaler products because they contained microbial, yeast, fungus and bacterial contamination.Contamination is prone to occur in the elderly (elderly) group.
