The airline’s popularity is largely due to its consistently low fares.Many one-way flights, such as the Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Phuket (Thailand) route, are offered for around US$40 (around Rp. 620 thousand).

Skytrax rankings are based on annual customer satisfaction surveys, which ask travelers to vote on which airline they consider the best.
Skytrax claims this survey involves passengers from more than 100 nationalities participating from 2024 to 2025, making it the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey in the world.

Skytrax also awards awards in other categories, such as cleanest airline (EVA Air from Taiwan), best economy class (Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong), and best airline overall (Doha-based Qatar Airways, for the second year in a row).
