Passengers who violate the French government’s new regulations can be fined up to 10,000 euros or around IDR 170 million for a single violation, or 20,000 euros or around IDR 340 million for repeat offenders.
In the most extreme cases, antisocial travelers could also face a flight ban of up to four years.

This new regulation applies to all airlines that have an operating permit issued by France.The following are some violations that can be subject to sanctions:
– Using electronic or electrical devices when prohibited.
– Interfere with flight crew or safety standard announcements.
– Refuse to comply with safety instructions given by crew members.
French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said the crackdown was carried out to ensure unacceptable behavior did not endanger the safety of passengers and cabin crew members, which he described as an absolute priority.
“This endangers flight safety and disrupts the working conditions of flight crew. With this decree, we equip ourselves with fast, fair and proportional enforcement tools. This new regulatory framework sends a strong message: disruptive behavior will no longer be tolerated,” Tabarot said, as quoted

This action by the French government came after
Air Transport Association
reported an increase in the number of problematic passengers in 2024. According to the airline trade association’s figures, there was one incident for every 395 flights last year.
