European cities again dominate the list

in the world for 2026. In the latest ranking released by ECA International, Bern, Switzerland, was named the overall champion, ahead of hundreds of other global cities.

assess cities based on a variety of important criteria, including infrastructure, air quality, access to healthcare, personal safety, political tensions, access to social networks and entertainment facilities, housing and utilities, and climate.
Of the 275 cities analyzed this year, European cities showed overwhelming dominance by occupying 38 of the top 50 positions, as well as sweeping all the top 10 positions.

“Europe’s strong performance reflects decades of investment in a clean environment, world-class health services and infrastructure,” said ECA International, as reported

“Notably, no European cities appeared in the bottom 50, underlining the continent’s attractiveness,” he added.
Bern, which is the de facto capital of Switzerland, was rated the most liveable city overall.The city is renowned for its beauty, built around a bend of the Aare River, and its historic Old Town (Altstadt) dating from the 12th century.
